SELF-DEFENCE

WELCOME TO GOJURYU KARATE

Welcome to the official website of Sensei Naude Gouws School of Karate, part of the largest Okinawan Karate organisation in the world, the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation. IOGKF has over 75,000 members in 55 different countries. Our very own South African IOGKF Chief Instructor, Sensei Bakkies Laubscher, is one of the original founding members of the IOGKF together with Sensei Morio Higaonna who founded the organisation in 1979 in Poole, England.

Sensei Naude is committed to preserving the intangible cultural treasure of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do, which has been passed down to us in its original form from one generation to the next. Whatever your goals, aspirations or abilities, Karate has become a beneficial passion for thousands of students and Sensei Naude, through his numerous martial art schools, have something for you and your family.

Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate is one of the only remaining styles of martial arts that maintains a complete system, from kicking and striking, to locks, throws and ground techniques with the sole application of self-defense. There is a significant focus on breathing, personal health and wellbeing. Traditional karate is an art that can be practiced for life.
